School of Languages

The study of language is not only important for effective communication and knowledge sharing, but also for the overall growth and development of children. As such, a teacher in this field should possess both professional and pedagogical skills, as well as specialized expertise.

The educational program’s philosophy aims to produce a motivated and dynamic teacher with the necessary skills and innovation to teach languages at the Junior Secondary School level of the Basic Education System. The goal is to create an articulate and capable teacher who can effectively educate their students.

The NCE programme in the languages is designed to:

1. Prepare the student: teachers for the task of teaching the language at the primary and Junior secondary school levels.
2. Enable students use the language as a medium of instruction.
3. Help student: teachers acquire spoken and written competence in the language.
4. Acquaint student: teachers with the socio-political and cultural lives of speakers of the language, with a view to promoting international understanding; and Prepare them for further studies in Language Education and other areas of language studies.
