The Board of Governing Council, Raphat College of Education, Obaagun on Wednesday, 16th December 2020, paid a courtesy visit to His Royal Highness, Oba Jimoh Adebisi Okunade, the Oloobagun of Obaagun, Osun State.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Council, Dr AbdulRaheem Abioye, called for cooperation and support of the Oba, to ensure stable development of the college.

He attested to the fact that RACOED is like a key which opens many doors of development and achievement of new things in Obaagun, praying for more great feats to be recorded in the ancient town.

Dr AbdulRaheem however, requested for peaceful coexistence, harmony and tranquillity between the Community and the School. In his response, His Royal Highness, Oba Jimoh Adebisi Okunade extolled the Proprietor of the College, Alhaji Wahabi Omotoso for establishing the Higher Institution of Learning in the town.

The royal father who believed that the money engrossing college is neither meant for the founder nor his children opined that the presence of the School in Obaagun would be the beginning of many great things to come.

He promised to support the Citadel of learning devotedly, making sure the whole Obaagun community contribute immensely to the growth of the college.

Oba Jimoh, however, prayed for the Proprietor, the Governing Council as well as the management team for success, divine guidance and protection, adding that the task ahead of the Governing Council is a huge one.

Earlier, in his contribution, the Vice Chairman of the Council, Alhaji Olayide Idowu requested that accommodation and living conditions in the town be of mutual benefit between the people of Obaagun and students of the College.

He further introduced the purpose of the courtesy visit to the Oloobagun, saying that, “the visit is all-important in order to entrench cordial relationship between the town and the gown.

A chieftain, Chief Aro of Obaagun land, showered encomium on the Proprietor for “establishing such a huge edifice in his hometown”. He commended the visit by the Governing Council and prayed for continuous development in the town.

A member of the Council, Prince Adeoye, however, thanked the Royal father for being a host to the Governing Council.

The courtesy visit by the Governing Council came after the installation of the Board on Saturday 5th of December, 2020.

It was their first official outing since inauguration.
